It's pretty much understood that there are two different seasons in golf:
1. The PGA Tour season
2. Tiger Woods' season
The former begins on Thursday in California but Woods, as with most of the top 50 golfers in the world, will not be playing. Woods' PGA Tour season won't officially begin until January but since we're doing the wraparound schedule with the PGA, we might as well do it with Tiger as well.
Here's where you can find Mr. Woods playing golf the rest of the year:
The Match at Mission Hills (October 28) -- Woods will tee it up as he did last year in China against Rory McIlroy in a one-day exhibition event at the end of October. The event will be streamed on Back9Network.com.
Turkish Airlines Open (November 7-10) -- This is the third event in the European Tour's version of the FedEx Cup. The penultimate challenge before the finale in Dubai.
Woods played here last year as well but at the time it was just an eight-man event. Now it's a full-fledged tournament.
Earlier this year Woods committed to play in it again.
"I had a great time during my first visit to Turkey," Woods said. "The fans who came to watch made it a really special event and I'm looking forward to playing there once again."
Northwestern Mutual World Challenge (December 5-8) -- This is the tournament Tiger hosts that, for some reason, offers World Golf Rankings points even though it's only an 18-person tournament.
That's it. Those are your three chances to see Tiger Woods until next spring other than the random Stanford football game this fall.
