The 2013-2014 PGA Tour season gets going early with a new wraparound schedule and the second event of the season is the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Let's do a little Q&A on what to expect from this week's event.

What is it?

Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, the second event of the 2013-2014 PGA Tour season.

Where is it?

Las Vegas, Nev. at TPC at Summerlin

When is it?

Oct. 17-20

What is the purse?

$6 million

How can I watch it?

Golf Channel at 5-8 p.m. Eastern on all four days.

Who's playing?

Some notable names include Zach Johnson, Webb Simpson, Nick Watney, Vijay Singh, Hideki Matsuyama, Graham DeLaet, Brendon de Jonge, Ryan Moore, Harris English, Davis Love III, and Angel Cabrera.

Who are the former champions?

2012 -- Ryan Moore
2011 -- Kevin Na
2010 -- Jonathan Byrd
2009 -- Martin Laird
2008 -- Marc Turnesa

Wait, didn't Justin Timberlake used to be involved with this tournament?

That would be correct. Timberlake's name has been on the tournament for the last five years and he served as host until this year's event. He was likely bounced because somebody finally realized "Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children" is the longest name ever for a golf tournament.

Something had to go. Oh, and he's not hosting anymore.

So who are you picking?

I'm glad you asked. Here are my picks for the Shriners Open:

Winner

Nick Watney (16-1) -- Watney's last three finishes here: T10, second, T6. That's pretty strong and with a weaker field this week he's a good bet again at 16-1 (though not the favorite, that would be Zach Johnson at 12-1).

Watney finished last season strong, as well. He went T9 at The Barclays, second at the BMW Championship, and T14 at the Tour Championship. If he finishes outside the top 10 in Vegas, I'd be pretty shocked.

Lock for top 10

Brendon de Jonge (25-1) -- de Jonge finished second at this event last season and he's coming off a really good, if not underrated performance at the Presidents Cup.

He also hasn't seen anything north of a top 20 appearance since the Wyndham Championship. That's right, he finished in the top 20 in every playoff event through the Tour Championship. He might not win this week but he'll be in the mix.

Sleeper

Richard Lee (125-1) -- Lee has only played this tournament once and it was a T6 finish in 2012. He finished 84th in the FedEx Cup standings last season and didn't play the Frys.com Open.

Will he win the Shriners Open? Probably not, but I'll take a top 10 guy from last year as my wild card, especially at 125-1.
