VIDEO: Jarrod Lyle makes tearful return to golf

Man.

This is tough to get through.

Jarrod Lyle is playing the Australian Masters this weekend in Melbourne with his wife and daughter in attendance.

That might not seem like a big deal -- 119 other golfers are playing the same tournament, many with their wives and kids there, also -- but Lyle's story is not like those other 119.

Lyle, an Australian who is 32 and has won twice on the Web.com Tour, was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in March 2012. He overcame it some 15 years ago when he was 17 and is doing so again, hopefully for good this time.

He has the support of an entire golf community, including Tiger Woods:

Lyle has a medical exemption to return to the PGA Tour whenever he feels like he's ready.

For now he's just trying to take it one round at a time in Australia.

"Just walking to that first tee and teeing the ball up and trying to hit it — that's probably going to be the hardest thing," Lyle said.

From the video at the top it appears he was right.

"It's just going to let a whole lot of stuff out. Hopefully when that ball flies I can just get on to playing golf and put everything behind me and just get back to the golfer that I am."

Anybody not rooting for this guy? I seriously doubt it.
