Save your comments, I know there's a World Cup of Golf. What I want to know is what the actual World Cup would look like if you substituted golfers into the 32 slots.

Today's idea comes from Scott Leightman and it's brilliant.

He took the FIFA ranking of each World Cup team and swapped it for the correlating golfer at that same ranking. Then he grouped them just like the World Cup groups that came out today.

Here's how it looks.

Group A

No. 10 -- Jason Day (Brazil)
No. 16 -- Zach Johnson (Croatia)
No. 20 -- Sergio Garcia (Mexico)
No. 51 -- Richard Sterne (Cameroon)

Pretty great group here. Maybe the most deathly of the groups of death with Day, Johnson, and Garcia.

Group B

No. 1 -- Tiger Woods (Spain)
No. 9 -- Brandt Snedeker (Netherlands)
No. 15 -- Luke Donald (Chile)
No. 59 -- Chris Kirk (Australia)

Tiger and Snedeker advance here. Easily.

Group C

No. 4 -- Phil Mickelson (Colombia)
No. 12 -- Graeme McDowell (Greece)
No. 17 -- Jim Furyk (Ivory Coast)
No. 48 -- Miguel Angel Jiminez (Japan)

Phenomenal group of personalities. If I had to cover one group, it would be this one.

Group D

No. 6 -- Rory McIlroy (Uruguay)
No. 31 -- Victor Dubuisson (Costa Rica)
No. 13 -- Ian Poulter (England)
No. 7 -- Matt Kuchar (Italy)

Kinda feels like Poulter and Kuchar would advance here. Poulter seems like he'd fare well in a World Cup. Crazy eyes and all.

Group E

No. 8 -- Steve Stricker (Switzerland)
No. 23 -- Hideki Matsuyama (Ecuador)
No. 19 -- Charl Schwartzel (France)
No. 41 -- Rickie Fowler (Honduras)

Sneaky great group here. I have Matsuyama and Schwartzel advancing.

Group F

No. 3 -- Henrik Stenson (Argentina)
No. 21 -- Webb Simpson (Bosnia-Herzegovina)
No. 45 -- Jimmy Walker (Iran)
No. 36 -- Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (Nigeria)

Probably the least sexy of all groups.

Group G

No. 2 -- Adam Scott (Germany)
No. 5 -- Justin Rose (Portugal)
No. 24 -- Lee Westwood (Ghana)
No. 14 -- Dustin Johnson (USA)

Group of death, indeed.

Group H

No. 11 -- Jason Dufner (Belgium)
No. 26 -- Bubba Watson (Algeria)
No. 22 -- Jordan Spieth (Russia)
No. 54 -- Boo Weekley (Korea)

It made me smile to see that Boo was correlated to Korea. Spieth and Dufner advance here, easily.

This would be so much fun.
