I'm pretty stoked about the future of Hideki Matsuyama's career. He had a pretty under-the-radar T10 finish at the US Open in 2013 and then followed that up with a T6 at the British Open and T19 at the PGA Championship.
Did I mention he's 21 years old?
Anyway, Matsuyama had to pull out of the Sony Open this week with a wrist injury, according to Steph Wei.
He then proceeded to be wrapped in the largest cast I've ever seen on a professional athlete in my life. I mean, look at this thing!

Also, nice coffee cup.
Matsuyama said he was bummed to have to withdraw from the only PGA Tour tournament he was cut in last year. He even thought he would be able to play before the pro-am on Wednesday.
"I haven't been able to practice much, but obviously when the tournament starts I hope to play well."
A bummer, but his 2014 debut will be worth waiting for.
