Patrick Reed leads the Humana Challenge after a first-round 63 but there are a host of stars sitting just a little bit back of the top of the leaderboard.
Here's the top five:
And the full leaderboard.
Zach Johnson (Round 2: 7 under, Tournament: 7 under, T6) -- Johnson was quoted on Thursday as saying "do something right, baby" on his approach on the 18th hole. Johnson says hilarious stuff like this all the time and did a lot of things right in round one. He's poised for his second win in three starts.
Rickie Fowler (Round 1: 4 under, Tournament: 4 under, T31) -- Fowler talked on Thursday about the importance to him of winning in his home state of California.
"I have one Tour win but I definitely don't want to be remembered as a one time winner."
Webb Simpson (Round 1: 3 under, Tournament: 3 under, T48) --
Simpson nearly made a hole-in-one on Thursday but in the end settled for six birdies and a nice first day.
Keegan Bradley (Round 1: 3 under, Tournament: 3 under, T48) -- Bradley said he was pleased with his first round of 2014 because he's been a bit under the weather.
"I'm still a little tired. Getting better every day. I'm happy with today's round for the first round of the year."
Brandt Snedeker (Round 1: Even par, Tournament: Even par, T113) -- Snedeker will have a ton of work to do to make the cut. He's normally pretty birdie-happy but only made two of them (and two bogeys) on Thursday.
