The Farmers Insurance Open is underway and we have a first-day leader in Stewart Cink (and his dome). Here's a look at the current top five...
1. Stewart Cink: -8
2. Gary Woodland: -7
T3. Jason Day: -6
T3. Tyrone Van Aswegen: -6
T3. Marc Leishman: -6
T3. Jim Herman: -6
And here's a look at where the big-name stars stand after the first 18 holes.
Jason Day (Round 1: 6 under, Tournament: 6 under, T3) -- Yes, he shot a 66 but it was on the North Course (the easier of the two). Day said on Golf Channel he felt good coming into the tournament.
"I had good prep work coming into this week," said Day. "The game feels like it's in a good spot right now."
He also mentioned that he wants to get inside the world top five. Winning this tournament would be a huge step.
Phil Mickelson (Round 1: 3 under, Tournament: 3 under, T17) -- Lefty said after his round that his back locked up on him. His game held up, though. Three under after Round 1 is fine for this three-time champ. He joked on Golf Channel after his round that he didn't think the back was anything serious.
"I think I'm getting old."
He also hinted at potentially withdrawing.
Keegan Bradley (Round 1: 3 under, Tournament: 3 under, T17) -- Made four straight birdies on his back nine (front nine on the course) and looked for a bit that he might go super low.
Bubba Watson (Round 1: 2 under, Tournament: 2 under, T29) -- Decent start from a former champ who made a big eagle on No. 18 Thursday.
Jordan Spieth (Round 1: 1 under, Tournament: 1 under, T46) -- Do you think if you would have told Jordan Spieth two years ago he would be paired with Tiger in the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open and outplay him, he would have been excited?
Hunter Mahan (Round 1: E, Tournament: E, T63) -- Mahan hasn't finished outside the top 30 at this tournament in the last five years. He'll have some work to do on the South Course on Friday to keep that streak going.
Brandt Snedeker (Round 1: 5 over, Tournament: 5 over, T136) -- An ugly 77 on the easier of the two courses. Snedeker will struggle to make the cut on Friday.
