Jordan Spieth lost 4 and 2 to Ernie Els on Saturday at the Match Play Championship. Spieth appeared frustrated for pretty much the entirety of the match.
He was clearly upset at shots and putts he was striking and, at times, seemed to let his emotions get the best of him.
So he took to Twitter to apologize after his round:
I'm embarrassed about the way I acted on the course today.. Played like the 13 year old version of myself mentally. A lot of positives..— Jordan Spieth (@JordanSpieth) February 22, 2014
..From the last three weeks and ready to come back strong at Doral! Everybody has tough days and I'll handle it better next time for sure— Jordan Spieth (@JordanSpieth) February 22, 2014
It wasn't really necessary -- his outbursts were nothing Tiger Woods would raise an eyebrow at -- but they're certainly appreciated by golf fans.
Especially coming from a 20-year-old.
