Harold Ramis, who directed, starred in and/or wrote many a pop culture hit including Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Animal House, died early Monday morning at the age of 69.

Here's the Chicago Tribune:

"Ramis, a longtime North Shore resident, was surrounded by family when he died at 12:53 a.m. from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels, his wife Erica Mann Ramis said. He was 69."

The clips above of him talking about the nuances of Caddyshack are pretty great. You can tell how much he loved it.

He's not alone.
