Graeme McDowell outkicked his coverage (outdrove his yardage book?) and he'll soon have the baby girl to prove it.
McDowell announced at the Honda Classic that he and his new wife Kristin (married in October) are pregnant and expecting around the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
"We found on Tuesday it's a girl" said McDowell. "Obviously, we're real excited."
He also revealed the due date.
"I think we're planning to have her, if all goes well, the Monday of Boston if she decides to stay in there that long."
"Boston" being the week of the Deutsche Bank Championship (part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs) at the end of August. McDowell addressed the issue of having a kid during the playoffs.
"It's a great problem to have. I really don't care when she comes, as long as she's healthy. The playoffs into the Ryder Cup ... not much you can do there. But if it affects the playoffs, then it affects the playoffs. There will be other playoffs. You only have your first kid once."
As someone who just had his first kid, I could not agree more.
