The Masters is just around the corner (37 days, to be exact) and we're pretty excited. There's plenty of golf to be played between now and then but not enough writing about Augusta. We're trying to rectify that.

A lot of time has passed which means you might have forgotten how epic the ending to the 2013 Masters was.

The tournament itself? Not elite, but that ending more than made up for it.

Remember the shot Angel Cabrera stuck on No. 18 that followed up Adam Scott's birdie and helped send the the tournament to a playoff?

Cabrera does.

"There really wasn't much conversation. I saw Scott make his 3, and I said, ‘OK, we've got to make 3.' That's about all that was said."

A true badass.

And then what about the mutual six-irons that they struck in the second playoff hole at No. 10 that were followed by a Mickelsonian thumbs up from each golfer.

"The sportsmanship is to be expected from a guy like him," Scott said of Cabrera. "He's all class. It came across really great when he gave me the thumbs-up and I did it back to him. The atmosphere was so loud at that point that saying something, you wouldn't be able to hear what they said anyway. So it was down to hand signals. But still, to make a gesture at that moment shows what a classy guy he is."

I don't know if it came across on TV like that but the gesture in person seemed pretty awesome.

Cabrera acknowledged it as well.

"Golf is a sport and not a war," he said. "Whoever I play with, if he hits a good shot, I tell him good shot."

Great stuff from two of golf's best. And you should read the rest of the post for a great Seve Ballesteros-Gary Player story, not to mention what Marc Leishman thought of Scott's win.
