Confirming reports from earlier in the day, Tiger Woods made his participation in the Cadillac Championship official on Wednesday when he addressed the media.

It was Woods' first public chat since he withdrew from the Honda Classic last Sunday with back spasms. He said he's ready to go in his defense of this tournament.

"I feel better," said Woods. "It's been a long couple days of just treatment non-stop, trying to get everything calmed down. Treatment has gotten me to the point where I am now and then tomorrow (I'll) go all out." He said his bad back "comes and goes."

He's apparently "calmed down" from what was a grotesque outing last Sunday at a Honda Classic in which Woods said he had no idea whether he was going to hit his shots 100 yards left or right.

"It felt like I couldn't got to a point where I couldn't twist," said Woods.

He added that he wouldn't play a practice round at Donald Trump's new Doral on Thursday and that he would only chip and putt to get a feel for his game plan the rest of the week.

Then he assured everyone that mentally he's as strong as ever. His issues, right now and going forward, are purely physical.

"The will to win hasn't changed. It's physically am I able to do it. A bad back is no joke."

That's not a great thing if you're a Tiger fan because it's something I'm not sure he has a ton of control over. A bad back that "comes and goes"? That sounds just delightful.

On his training regiment Woods said he "used to be bigger" whatever that means and when asked if he'd ever tried yoga for his back he said that he had and it helps.

To be honest, Woods probably needs the practice this week, if nothing else. He still (!) hasn't finished a fourth round in the US this season and the Masters is just five weeks away.
