According to multiple reports Jason Day has withdrawn from the Cadillac Championship with a thumb injury.

As Jason Sobel pointed out, Day will be the only golfer inside the top 50 to not play in the event (unless somebody else withdraws).

This is disappointing for the Match Play champ but obviously his focus at this time of the season is on the Masters and being 100 percent healthy when it starts in five weeks.

"My left thumb was bothering me at the Accenture Match Play Championship and the pain continued here this week. I had an MRI yesterday here in Miami with Dr. Lee Kaplan. Fortunately, the MRI was negative, but the doctor prescribed rest if I was unable to play today. My plan is to rest for a couple of weeks," Day said.

"I'm sorry to miss the Cadillac Championship; it looks like it's going to be a great event."

Day was slated to play with Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy on Thursday and Friday at Doral. Now those two will play as a twosome.
