Tiger Woods' first round got worse before it got better on Friday and then it got worse again.

Let me explain: Woods made two bogeys and a double bogey in his first four holes on Friday (remember, he started the day at No. 11 because of rain on Thursday) before closing with three birdies and yet another bogey in his last four to finish with a 4-over 76.

Which means he shot a 39 on the back nine with only one par:

Woods is T54 for the tournament and eight back of leader Patrick Reed after 18 holes.

The story of Woods' two-day first round was his putter. He was just horrific on the greens until his last few holes. He also only hit five fairways.

The good news (if there's good news) is that Doral has been a bear thus far with windy conditions and bad weather and Woods will be able to backdoor his way into contention on Friday afternoon.

Other than future optimism, though, there's not much good to talk about with Woods. He's struggling big time right now and the story is quickly becoming whether or not he'll be able to pull it together in time for Augusta.
