If I would have told you Tiger Woods shot a 73 in his second round at the Cadillac Championship this time a few weeks ago you probably would have said "yikes, that's awful."

And if I would have told you it followed a first-round 76 you would have gasped aloud.

And if I would have followed that by telling you that Woods is actually probably going to be inside the top 25 at the end of the second round at Doral, you wouldn't have believed me.

All of those things are true, though.

Woods battled himself and the wind all day and gutted out a not-as-bad-as-it-sounds 5 over score heading to the weekend.

He was aided by the longest putt on the PGA Tour in five years.

Here's a look at his card on the day:

It was a good bounce back for Woods who shot his highest score ever at Doral in the first round.

When asked if the course was fair after his round Woods gave a curt "for the most part." They were really tough -- we might not see anything in the 60s all day.

He also noted that it was super fast.

"Tough golf course today. I don't think we expected the course to be that hard, that fast. It just kept getting quicker and quicker."

Like the way Woods hopes to move up the leaderboard this weekend.

Quicker and quicker.

Here's how the rest of the stars did at Doral on Friday...

Dustin Johnson (1 under, T1) -- Johnson's average driving distance was...hold on...let me double check this...ok...346 yards with a bonkers wind all day. Dude's a man.

Rory McIlroy (E, T5) -- 70-74 for McIlroy and he did it with awesome shots like this one:

Graeme McDowell (E, T5) -- McDowell feels like he's at a freaking British Open (see below) with these conditions. He hung around with a 73-71 and will be in it on the weekend.

Bubba Watson (1 over, T9) -- Watson's caddie tweeted about the crazy wind after his player's round. Look at these wild numbers.

Sergio Garcia (6 over, T34) -- My pick this week needs to get it together. I have faith in him. I don't know why, but I do.
