The Masters is just around the corner (24 days, to be exact) and we're pretty excited. There's plenty of golf to be played between now and then but we also want to keep you informed about what's going on with Augusta.

Monday would have been Bobby Jones' 112th birthday.

Jones passed away in 1971 at the age of 69 -- he was born on March 17th, 1902.

Jones as you know was instrumental in the genesis of the Masters. These photos are a pretty good indication of that.

The one below shows Augusta before it was Augusta. All barren and nursery-like. It's kind of eerie, really.

And this one, man, this one is good. It's a military portrait of Jones from the 1940s.

Jones only played in the Masters 11 times, finishing no better than T13.
