If you're going to pick one to go out on, this would be the one to do it, too. A snow-capped day at the National with the tree a stark contrast to the white snow.
It's a huge bummer the tree had to be removed from the grounds on account of the ice storms that lit up north Georgia but it will always be part of Masters history.
Phil Mickelson even responded to the news with a smiley face (!) emoticon. According to this article Mickelson was asked for a comment about the tree being removed and he sent a smiley face back and told the reporter to ask Jim Furyk.
Here was Furyk's response:
"I seem to hit that damn thing at least twice a year. It's a very difficult tee shot for me. So from the history of the game, I'll miss it. But my game sure won't miss it, put it that way."
