PGA Tour Expert Picks: Memorial Tournament

By Kyle Porter | Golf Writer

Two weeks until the US Open and we return to the place where the US won the Presidents Cup last year and Lindsey Vonn put Davis Love III's squirrel on Tiger Woods' shoulder (not a metaphor!).

The Memorial is played at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio (near Columbus) and hosted by Jack Nicklaus. As Keegan Bradley Instagrammed earlier, it's a pretty perfect location right now.

The tournament has been at this course since 1976 when Roger Maltbie (not a misprint) won the inaugural tournament.

The tournament will take place May 29 to June 1 and the purse is $6.2 million.

You can watch on Thursday and Friday (May 29-30) on Golf Channel from 2:30-6:30 p.m.and on Saturday (May 31) from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Golf Channel and 3-6 p.m. on CBS. Sunday (June 1) will be from 12-2 p.m. on Golf Channel and from 2:30-6 p.m. on CBS.

You can also watch the broadcast online at CBSSports.com Thursday and Friday (featured holes) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday (featured groups and simulcast) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Expert picks

Justin Rose (16-1): Rosey is so solid at this course. He obviously won in 2010 but he's also had top eight finishes in each of his last two appearances. His last outing (BMW PGA Championship in England) wasn't great (25th) but he hasn't finished outside the top 15 on the PGA Tour since March. The best value of the favorites.

Lock for top 10

Matt Kuchar (14-1): Not only is he a walking top 10 right now but he's an auto top 10 at this tournament. His last four appearances here are all top eights (including a win). He also has nine top 10s in 14 events this season. What else do I need to do to convince you?

Bo Van Pelt (66-1): He has been sneaky great at this tournament of late. Top 15s in three of his last four appearances and top 25s in all four. He's also coming off his best performance of the season at Colonial. Look for him to be in it on the weekend.
