One of the longest current major streaks comes to an end

On Monday a bevy of big-time names played the US Open sectional qualifier in Columbus, Ohio. There was Justin Leonard and Davis Love III and Charley Hoffman, among others.

KJ Choi was among them and he shot 72-69 to finish one spot out of a playoff that could have entered him into the US Open.

Why is this relevant?

Because the third-longest streak of playing major championships is about to come to an end as a result of Choi missing the US Open. Choi is not playing in Memphis and currently No. 86 in the world, leaving him just outside of the top 60 spot necessary to get into the tournament.

Who are the other two golfers?

Not Tiger Woods, not Phil Mickelson, and definitely not Rory McIlroy.
