First things first, let's talk about how cool it is that Adam Scott wears hats with the Masters logo on them when he plays, just like you and me.

I mean forget the fact that he has Tiger's 2000 swing and actually won the Masters and he's rich as all get out, we all play golf pretty much the same way.

Scott played Pinehurst ahead of the US Open and had some thoughts about its redesign.

"I already had a great idea that it's a fantastic golf course but obviously very different than nine years ago when I was here last at the US Open," Scott said. "They've done a beautiful job of restoring this golf course."

This has been a common theme among golfers who have played it recently -- notably Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy.

"I think it's going to be a very unique US Open because rough is not really a factor. Making some good decisions is going to be key," Scott said.

I agree with this, it's going to be very different than your typical "two-foot-high rough" US Open, but compelling just the same.
