Phil Mickelson was back doing Phil Mickelson things at the St. Jude Classic on Thursday.

Lefty shot an opening-round 67 that included the most Mickelsonian flop shot ever (see above). He made five birdies and just two bogeys on his way to 3 under on his first day.

His round included some holes we're used to from Phil:

Play was suspended in the middle of the first round due to bad weather but Phil seemed pleased with his day which, let's be honest, is nothing more than a warmup for the main event next week at the US Open.

"Finishing the round the way I did, that's exactly what I need to do and some momentum that I need heading into the US Open," said Mickelson.
