Let's get into US Open mode by watching highlights from 1999

If you can watch this video of the 1999 US Open at Pinehurst No. 2 and not get a little amped for this year's version, congratulations, you're currently the first human to be alive sans a heart.

Phil Mickelson and Payne Stewart went at it for 18 holes in 1999 and man, it was freaking awesome. My favorite part of the video is Stewart's shot on No. 17 to about eight feet.

He picks up his tee like he just clubbed one at his local track and wants to get to the clubhouse for beers. Phil turns to him and yells "nice shot" then nearly puts it inside his ball.

That was the "Angel Cabrera-Adam Scott thumbs up" moment of this tournament.

And then the putt on No. 18 and Payne grabbing Phil by the jowels, my gosh, if we get 75 percent of that year's Open this year, it will be a grand event.
