What's a good sporting even if you can throw some good, hard-earned scratch on top of it? This year's US Open has a number of ways you can light your money on fire. Here are a few of my favorites.

All odds courtesy of Bovada.

Highest finisher (Group D)

Jason Day: +300
Luke Donald: +330
Webb Simpson: +300
Dustin Johnson: +400
Hideki Matsuyama: +400

Give me Matsuyama out of here all day. Day is still recovering from an injury and Matsuyama was top 10 last year at Merion and is coming off a win at Memorial. At +400 you can have the rest of those guys and I'll take the youngster.

Harris English in the top 10

Yes: +600

That's some really good value.

Golfers vs. Field

Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, and Phil Mickelson: +275
The field: -400

Go with the field, I think. That +275 number is enticing but I don' tthink Scott or Watson is going to win so you're staking everything on Rory and Phil. Sounds dicey.

Top Irish player

Rory McIlroy: -275
Graeme McDowell: +300
Shane Lowry: +800
Darren Clarke: +3300

Give me McDowell at +300! He missed the cut last year but was T2 the year before and of course won it in 2010. I think McIlroy will beat him but

Top Spanish player

Sergio Garcia: -200
Miguel Angel Jimenez: +350
Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano: +650
Pablo Larrazabal: +800

I think this will be Sergio more than I think the top Irish golfer will be Rory but Jimenez is at least enticing at +350.
