Bubba Watson, Brendon Todd, Chris Kirk and several other former Bulldogs lead a well-represented Georgia contingent in the 2014 U.S. Open field.

Georgia leads all schools with eight former players in the field, followed by Illinois, Florida and Texas (5); while Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech all have four players in the field.

The University of Alabama, which just claimed its second straight national championship in golf, has three players in the field.

In total 101 of the 156 golfers playing this weekend have a college affiliation, and 23.9 percent of that group come from SEC schools. The ACC ranks second among college conferences with 18.5 percent and the Big 12 ranks third with 13 percent of the 101 golfers coming from the college game.
