Martin Kaymer is 10 under after 36 holes (not sure how many different ways I can say that) and as a result has been made the huge favorite at Pinehurst to win the 2014 US Open.

The course will likely toughen up on Saturday and Sunday which could play right into Kaymer's hands.

"I would like to see it as tough as possible," said Kaymer about the course. "I was always a fan of a golf course where you need to hit good golf shots and not really have a putting competition."

Here's a look at his odds (via Bovada):

Martin Kaymer: 1-2

Other favorites

Rory McIlroy: 18-1
Brendon Todd: 20-1
Henrik Stenson: 20-1
Dustin Johnson: 25-1
Brandt Snedeker: 28-1

Fringe favorites

Jordan Spieth: 30-1
Kevin Na: 30-1
Adam Scott: 33-1
Matt Kuchar: 33-1
Keegan Bradley: 33-1

Everyone else

Hideki Matsuyama: 55-1
Brendon de Jonge: 66-1
Brooks Koepka: 66-1
Chris Kirk: 80-1
Ian Poulter: 80-1
Justin Rose: 80-1

The craziest part about these odds isn't that Kaymer is a 1-2 favorite to win a major with 36 holes left to play but that McIlroy is the second-best favorite and he's nine back after two rounds.

I like the value with Scott, Matsuyama, and I suppose McIlroy. They're all capable of something wild on Saturday. But with all my money on the line I have to put it on Kaymer with everybody chasing him. He can shoot 72-72 and win this by a couple of strokes.
