Nobody could even come close to catching Martin Kaymer on Sunday. Kaymer beat his next closest comptition by eight strokes and took home his second major in the process.

He's going to be a force for a long time.

We covered all the happenings, including the best shots, craziest stats, and funniest commentary.

Enjoy!

7:40 PM: There it is, Martin Kaymer wins the 2014 US Open. What a week, thanks to everyone for following along.

7:22 PM: Compton goes right off the 18 tee. Kaymer as the only golfer under par is officially still in play!

7:13 PM: Just checking in to remind you that Donald Trump is a moron.

6:57 PM: I'm rooting for Kaymer to finish 10 under and nobody else to finish under par.

6:29 PM: Kaymer can borderline enjoy this coming in. Six up with six left. Bye-bye.

6:03 PM: Heading over to work on some post-round pieces. I'll be in and out of here for the next 90 minutes. Enjoy the stripe show from the German.

5:46 PM: I think I'm now rooting for Kaymer to finish 10 under and nobody else to finish under par.

5:36 PM: And that's a wrap on the 2014 US Open. Kaymer birdies No. 9 to close the door.

5:26 PM: This is where we are...

5:16 PM: It's weird to watch Snedeker hole these putts out and just walk off the green because he can't bend over to pick the ball up out of the cup. Back pain must be piercing.

5:11 PM: This is terrific. I love it.

5:01 PM: Seriously, though, if Fowler keeps putting like he has the last few days he's going to light it up the rest of the year.

5:00 PM: There will be blood.

4:54 PM: You know it's a good week at the US Open when people are talking about how disappointing your pars are.

4:40 PM: Very cool.

4:36 PM: Incredible double bogey from Fowler -- if that's a thing?

4:30 PM: Fowler just hit one about 85 yards over the fourth green from about 50 yards out. What is German for "ov-ah"?

4:24 PM: Here's that crazy Kaymer drive to the green on the third hole.

4:10 PM: :)

4:09 PM: Martin Kaymer just stuck a drive about 30 feet from the cup on a 308-yard par-4. How do you say "ballgame" in German?

4:03 PM: This gets all of the RTs.

4:01 PM: This is already more fun than I thought it was going to be. Fowler barely missed a birdie on No. 2 and Kaymer made a big-balls par.

3:57 PM: Two-shot swing coming up here with Kaymer and Fowler?

3:40 PM: This photo cracked me up.

3:31 PM: Okay, everybody is off the first. Settle in for what will probably be a really boring next four hours.

3:11 PM: How are the leaders not on the course yet?

2:54 PM: I'm pretty sure Johnny Miller just said "a nice open throat looking at you" about a Phil Mickelson shot.

2:50 PM: Bro five.

2:47 PM: I agree with this.

2:36 PM: The way this course is playing today it would be a pretty incredible day if Kaymer wasn't up by 39 shots.

2:20 PM: This photo really struck me for some reason.

2:07 PM: This would be incredible.

2:01 PM: Sergio Garcia cannot catch a break.

1:54 PM: Excited about Ian Poulter's usual Sunday 64 at a major..

1:47 PM: This shot of Fran Quinn and his kid crushed me. Wow.

1:45 PM: So..this Zach Johnson ace was the best. His celebration was incredible.

1:15 PM: This is awesome, too.

1:09 PM: This is awesome.

12:40 PM: Adam Scott and Rory McIlroy teeing off together at 1:45 on Sunday of the US Open sure sounds good in theory.

12:33 PM: This seems like a great place to start.

Tee Times

Tee times and pairings were released for Sunday's final round at the 2014 US Open championship and while we'd love to tell you about the drama surrounding the various pairings, well, it's all on Martin Kaymer to make things interesting.

If the German, with a five-shot lead, can come back to the crowd, then it makes things interesting. Rickie Fowler's a fascinating final-round partner for him; a star worth of watching who only has one PGA Tour victory in his career.

There are some notable pairings but nothing becomes truly interesting unless Kaymer falters (he tried to do it early Saturday).

Boo Weekley paired with Kevin Stadler just feels like a real good ole' time.

Once again Phil Mickelson is paired with a local guy -- this time he's walking with Brendon Todd after the Cary, N.C. product fell down the leaderboard on Saturday.

The 1:45 p.m. pairing of Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott won't mean much in terms of the winner but it should draw a pretty large crowd given the star power.

Erik Compton is out there writing new storylines for the championship and would be an unbelievable story for contention.

Garth Mulroy played college golf at nearby N.C. State but had to travel round the world to qualify.

Quite the motley crew all around.
