There's a great article on Golf Digest by Jaime Diaz on Rickie Fowler where Diaz quotes a former CEO of Deutsche Bank named Seth Waugh on pro golfers.
"These guys have all essentially become CEOs of their own business. Their product is hitting 7-irons to three feet."
I thought that was a great quote and very applicable to somebody like, say, Rory McIlroy who has a portfolio as lengthy as his drives.
You know one hindrance to hitting 7-irons to three feet? How about getting your clubs lost by an airline?

That's not good.
McIlroy is playing the Irish Open this week and, as he pointed out, could use his sticks. The real question here is why is the 35th-richest athlete in the world flying commercial?

Which I'm sure Nike was just thrilled about.
Then United found them.

And all was well.
McIlroy is the 5-1 favorite to win the Irish Open. Maybe even better than that now that he has golf clubs to play with.
