VIDEO: Royal Liverpool has hosted 11 British Opens

I love everything about this video of the 1947 British Open at Royal Liverpool.

The course where the 2014 British Open will take place has actually hosted 11 British Opens, but only one since 1967 (Tiger's win in 2006).

The 1947 version was won by a man named Fred Daly (no relation to John) by one stroke. Daly actually finished in the top in six of seven British Opens in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

My favorite things about this video:

1. How choppy his putting stroke was. I wanted to replace his club mark for him after he putted.

2. The reaction of someone (a caddie? Player? Agent?!) at the 0:50 mark of the video to a missed putt by Daly. Pretty hilarious.

3. Daly being carried off on the shoulders of the patrons. Can you imagine Phil Mickelson riding the shoulders of a big group of fans after winning in 2013? That might actually be a bad example because I think I could see Mickelson doing it. What about Tiger? Zero chances.

Only a little over a month until the British Open, you guys!
