You hear that noise, that really loud noise emanating from the headquarters of every major network that televises professional golf?

That is executives at those networks yelling in pain because they just spent the last 24 hours high-fiving each other and now their hands are raw and the color of Tiger Woods' Sunday shirts.

Yes, Tiger is coming back in one week and golf is better for it.

Don't believe me? In how many sports would the opponents of another person so openly and joyously celebrate his return?

Here's a sampling.

Billy Horschel:

Then via Golf Channel.

Keegan Bradley: "I'm so pumped. It's great news for golf and great news for the Tour. A no-Tiger Tour is not the same. ... We need Tiger. The whole Tour needs Tiger and golf needs Tiger."

Bubba Watson: "It's good for the game of golf. We've been wanting to see it. No matter if he misses the cut, no matter if he just finishes middle of the pack, it's a great thing for golf that he's back. It means he's been rehabbing the right way, and the doctors feel he's good. Normally I don't watch golf, but I'll watch when Tiger's playing."

Jason Day: "I'm going to enjoy seeing Tiger back on the golf course. He kind of pumps me up because a lot of people come out, and I like it when there's a lot of people following."

I mean, look at those quotes! Does LeBron James get "so pumped" when Kobe Bryant comes back from knee surgery? Sure, he probably doesn't want somebody to get hurt but he doesn't use language like this.

Next week should have a major-like feel, especially since Woods has won the tournament two of the last five years.
