If you missed the first round of the British Open I live blogged the entire thing from 4 a.m. on. I don't think I drank any adult beverages but it sure felt like it as the day went on -- I think this is what the British Open does to you.

Tiger Woods showed up, though, and Rory McIlroy crushed. Plus, Bubba Watson has zero clues about who the Beatles are.

Here's everything you need to know.

2:53 p.m. -- Okay, that's it for me on round one. Back at it at 4 a.m. on Friday. Thanks for joining in!

2:20 p.m. -- Adam Scott shot a slick little 68 to get to within two of Rory McIlroy. All the big names!

2:05 p.m. -- Phil Mickelson just told ESPN "this is as good as I've hit the ball in over a year." He shot a 74.

2:01 p.m. -- What a great first day. I'm getting punch drunk but this leaderboard is all kinds of awesome, Tiger is back, Bubba is angry, Phil is FIGJAMing, all of it is awesome.

1:47 p.m. -- Lefty goes out of bounds on the final hole.

1:27 p.m. -- This video of different golfers trying to perform the opening announcements at the British Open is pretty awesome..

12:51 p.m. -- Here is the world's most interesting golfer doing most interesting golfer in the world things.

12:12 p.m. -- Bubba Watson is sort of melting down which is just what this tournament needs!

12 p.m. -- We've reached the p.m. portion of the broadcast! Also, Bubba Watson just missed a double bogey putt that Ernie Els would raise an eyebrow at:

11:51 a.m. -- Stat of the day..

11:31 a.m. -- This Bones interview on ESPN is so awesome. I love hearing people talk about Lefty going FIGJAM as hard as possible.

11:18 a.m. -- I laughed.

11:14 a.m. -- I think I have been awake for six days.

10:45 a.m. -- Adam Scott eagle to get to 3 under. He's not going anywhere.

10:40 a.m. -- This interview with John Singleton was just so awesome. I'm in awe of this story.

10:22 a.m. -- Bubba Watson cannot name a single Beatle.

10:12 a.m. -- I'd be surprised if he doesn't w/d at some point. Looked pretty bad.

10:02 a.m. -- What petition do we sign to get Peter Alliss and Ian Darke to call every sporting event? Like, all of them?

9:45 a.m. -- Here's an aewsome Tiger 3-wood draw:

9:40 a.m. -- Ted Scott pars the first hole, good to see him get off to a good start. Do we think anybody takes down Rory's 66 today? I'm going to say no. Too many variables with the weather.

9:06 a.m. -- Here's my Tiger gamer. Today was pretty fun.

8:50 a.m. -- Yes!

8:37 a.m. -- This is awesome. Okay, I'm going to write my Tiger game. Be back in a minute.

8:32 a.m. -- Tiger is not pleased, either. Nobody is pleased.

8:29 a.m. -- Rory McIlroy gets to 6 under (!) -- how much is he doing to think about that Friday round in the next 24 hours?

8:17 a.m. -- Henrik Stenson, not pleased...

8:04 a.m. -- This absolutely crushed me.

7:51 a.m. -- This must be a joke.

7:46 a.m. -- Matteo Manassero posting!

7:34 a.m. -- Rory is just so locked in right now. Gets to 5 under and leads alone.

7:23 a.m. -- Paul Azinger just said "that's the first miscue we've seen out of Tiger in a loooong time." He's played 13 holes.

7:21 a.m. -- Tiger just rolled in another birdie, by the way. Three in a row, 2 under overall.

7:20 a.m. -- This is impressive:

7:10 a.m. -- By the way, Big Cat just rolled in another birdie to get to 1 under. I don't want to jinx this but this tournament has already been better than the US Open and almost as good as the Masters.

7:09 a.m. -- Ohhh, Henrik, this was not good.

7:01 a.m. -- This leaderboard! Sergio, Rory, Fowler, Brooks Koepka, and the worse Molinari brother lead at 4 under. I'm giddy.

6:54 a.m. -- Here's a pretty cool photo of your current leader (Rickie Fowler):

6:51 a.m. -- Tiger birdie/fist pump combo alert! Back to even par.

6:45 a.m. -- I know the weather wasn't strong in 2006 but it's bonkers to me that Tiger got to 18 under. Even more bonkers that Chris DiMarco got to 17 under!

6:38 a.m. -- Hell of a leaderboard right now:

6:31 a.m. -- I love him, too.

6:18 a.m. -- I'm fascinated to see how Tiger plays the back nine after going 36 on the front. He'll have three par 5s to make it up in these last two hours.

6:12 a.m. -- This shot by Matt Jones is absurd.

6:10 a.m. -- This photo of the year candidate might be my favorite photo of the year candidate.

6:00 a.m. -- I complain about getting up at three in the morning but I secretly sort love it as well as this tournament. This big boy leaderboard (Fowler! McIlroy! Sergio!) already is part of the reason why.

5:50 a.m. -- And Singleton pars the first. Twitter is already all in on him contending this week. I absolutely love it.

5:37 a.m. -- Here's his tee shot which he had to back off because he was so nervous! He piped it!

5:30 a.m. -- Here he is, by the way. Fired up.

5:27 a.m. -- What if the factory worker goes 65-68 and leads after 36 holes? Wouldn't that be the story of the year?

5:23 a.m. -- Birdie from Tiger at the 5th, here it is:

5:07 a.m. -- Tiger made par somehow.

5:03 a.m. -- Somebody on Twitter mentioned donuts and that's all I can think about now. Oh and Tiger's about to bogey No. 4 which is a birdie hole.

4:57 a.m. -- Rory McIlroy missed a birdie on No. 1, he did not miss a birdie on No. 2.

4:53 a.m. -- Par from Tiger! He's not going to shoot 90! Oh and Tom Watson is 1 under thru five which is the best thing that's happened so far this tournament and we're almost four hours in!

4:38 a.m. -- Tiger bogeys No. 2. Still on pace for a 90.

4:25 a.m. -- Tiger bogeys No. 1 which is how I usually play the first hole. He's on pace for a 90. He couldn't get up and down out of the bunker (h/t Golf Digest on the GIF):

4:13 a.m. -- I'm awake! Kind of! Where's Tiger? Where's my coffee?
