In a surprise move on Wednesday Tiger Woods arrived at the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla.

Woods suffered a back injury at the Bridgestone Invitational last weekend and had to withdraw after nine holes of his final round.

His caddie Joe LaCava actually showed up at Valhalla to prep for the tournament not knowing whether or not his boss would be there to play.

And it looks like he probably will be -- to the breathless reporting of many (including me).

I'm not totally sure what this means given that Tiger hasn't gotten in any prep work and wasn't exactly crushing it before his injury at Firestone but it does look like he'll play. Unless he's just going through practice rounds for fun.

It's a bummer that he's playing poorly, too, as this was the site of his mammoth win back in 2000 in a playoff over Bob May. It would have been fun to watch him try to conjure the magic needed to try and repeat that.

Instead? We'll probably just watch him struggle to make the cut.
