I have to say I was surprised by this chart.

I follow golf for a living, read everything I can, think about it more than I should, and still, I was stunned by what you're about to look at.

And what you're about to look at it is the list of 17 men who have won four or more majors in the modern era (since the Masters began) and at what age they accomplished the feat.

Here's a look:

Did you see that?

I sneaked Rory McIlroy onto the list at the end and highlighted him as well as Nicklaus and Woods. They would be, if McIlroy wins Valhalla, the only three men to win four majors in the modern era before the age of 26.

The next closest is Seve Ballesteros at 27 then Peter Thomson at 28 and nobody else did it before their 30th birthday.

There's a Gene Sarazan lesson in there somewhere (he won three before age 22 then didn't win again until he was 30) and I don't want to count McIlroy's chickens (or whatever the Northern Irish version is of that phrase) but what you could be watching on Sunday is historic, historic stuff.

Tiger stuff.

Jack stuff.

Maybe Rory stuff.
