Welcome back to The Links -- where golf is tennis, new stats are a thing, and yep, we're still talking about Tiger Woods' new swing coach.

The PGA Tour's new strokes gained stats are terrific. I like. (PGA Tour)

The Tiger Effect? Yeah, it happened in women's tennis, not golf. (ESPNW)

Looks like Jordan Spieth is getting used to tour life. He talks about a recent round at an exclusive Dallas club: "Like a tour event without the rough," he said. "We played 16 holes when the storms rolled in. I was at 6 under with a putt to go to 7. I was up a bunch of money and it washed all the bets. So I still haven't played 17 or 18. I told them the fact we didn't finish means we get another round." (NYT)

This from Brandel Chamblee is awesome: "Tiger Woods came to his golf swing in 2000, alone, watching the video of the 1997 Masters. He was watching that in a room alone, and he figured out that there were at least 10 things he needed to change. And those 10 things, he called up Butch Harmon and loaded them on him.

And Butch said: 'I agree with all of them.' And they went to work. And within a year, he had the swing that produced the greatest golf that anybody had ever seen. That was a swing of Tiger's origin, of his own making. He visualized it, and I think that sort of discovery process is absent from the Tour right now." (Golf Channel)

Jim Furyk: "It's golf. I didn't die out there today. I don't expect anyone to feel sorry for me." (NYT)

Wait, isn't Keegan Bradley the one guy who's a lock? (Sports Illustrated)

Liberty National gets the 2017 Presidents Cup. (NYT)
