This is going to be less straightforward than we thought it would be. In the last few weeks it all seemed like it was going to be so simple.
Then Stephen Gallacher and
Kirk won the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday after finishing 14th in the points standings and threw a kink into who
Stephen Gallacher finished third at the Italian Open on the other side of the pond making McGinley wonder about what seemed to be a foregone conclusion with Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, and Ian Poulter.
I still think McGinley goes with those three but he said his picks "won't be coming out of left field. I will be going by logic." I'm not sure if picking a slumping Lee Westwood is "going by logic" at this point.
Here are my predictions for Tuesday:
Keegan Bradley: Lock. It's happening. He was immense last time around and just finished T16 at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Hunter Mahan: Another lock, especially after the way he played at The Barclays.
Brandt Snedeker: I think this is a trust thing and a putting thing. Because everything is so diluted between Kirk, Brandt Snedeker, Ryan Moore, Billy Horschel, and 30 other guys, I think Watson dips into the well with Sneds. I wouldn't be shocked no matter who he picks here, though.
Ian Poulter: Yeah, Poulter is getting picked.
Luke Donald: He's too good of a putter to be left off. Ryder Cup veteran, too.
Lee Westwood: This will be interesting but I think his history matters to McGinley more than a hot streak by Gallacher.
