Boo Weekley shoots 63, leads Tampa Bay Championship

Boo Weekley played the round of his life on Sunday, shooting a bogey-free 63 and momentarily taking control of the Tampa Bay Championship.

Weekley started off the day six shots back of leaders Kevin Streelman, Justin Leonard and George Coetzee. He opened with a 72-70-71 first three rounds, good for 35th place.

Weekley, who is known for his ball-striking ability, made eight birdies on the day and was nearly knocking down flagsticks with his irons.

His round was the best of the tournament by two shots.

Weekley is going to have a long wait to see if his 8-under score stands up the rest of the day because he has more than 15 groups still on the course behind him.
