The argument can be made that nobody meant more to the modern sport of golf than Arnold Palmer.
So it was no surprise to see an outpouring of affection and memories from PGA Tour professionals and others associated with the game when Palmer died on Sunday at the age of 87.
Palmer's was as full a life as one could possibly live, and it clearly affected so many who are trying to walk in footsteps much larger then their own.
Here are just a few of the pros who have offered up their own personal obituaries for one of the greatest to ever play the game.
It's an honor to be a lockermate with you at ANGC. You inspired millions, changed the game, and will forever be missed. #arnie

Don't know if any other athlete did more for their sport than Arnold Palmer did for golf. He made it cool because he was cool. RIP #legendpic.twitter.com/hyEgLD8DBK

Just off the phone w/Curtis Strange, an Arnold Palmer scholar at Wake. We cried, we laughed, & CS said this: "I didn't think he'd ever die."
