Coming into the weekend, Rickie Fowler seemed to be an unlikely candidate to make a run at the green jacket. But that all changed Saturday.

Fowler, who teed off well before many of the leaders having entered the weekend 2-over, fired a third round 67 at Augusta National, playing his final 11 holes at 4-under par.

The 25-year-old, in fact, had chances to go lower on Saturday, but left some strokes on the course. Notably at the closing hole, where he whiffed on a makeable birdie.

Nevertheless, Fowler has certainly played his way into contention -- especially given the way the leaders have played thus far on Saturday.
