Michael Thompson makes hole-in-one at Players Championship
Michael Thompson did something on Thursday that hasn't happened in 13 years at the Players Championship. He aced the par-3 No. 8 hole.
Michael Thompson shot a 3-under 69 on Thursday at the Players Championship, which left him six back of leader Roberto Castro.
He was aided significantly by this ace at the 231-yard (!) par-3 No. 8 hole using a 3-iron. It was the only hole-in-one of the day at the Players Championship and just the sixth hole-in-one at No. 8 in the history of the tournament (and the first since 2000!).
