Peyton Manning joked with Tiger Woods about being No. 2
Peyton Manning took a jab at Tiger Woods last year when Rory McIlroy was No. 1 and Woods was No. 2
This Peyton Manning story, as it goes with most Peyton Manning stories, is pretty great.
Manning tells Golf Channel's Charlie Rymer about how when he played with the Indianapolis Colts he used to use world golf rankings as an indicator for snap counts.
"Tiger" was a one-call count, "Phil" was two, and so on.
Peyton said when he played with Tiger in March of 2013 Tiger asked him what the biggest difference between the Broncos offense and Colts offense was (the story starts at 5:40 above).
Manning told him that McIlroy is now the one-call count and Tiger is the two-call count.
I'll let Peyton take it from here:
"It hit him in the gut pretty hard. You know, because he likes to give it out more than anybody, and it hit him hard.
"He looked me in the eye and said, 'I'm gonna get that fixed.' And sure enough, what was it? A month later, two months later? He was back to No. 1. He called me and said, 'Now Tiger's going to be on 'one.' I said, 'Tiger's going to be on 'one.'"
