PGA Tour Expert Picks: Cadillac Championship
Tiger Woods will play but he's not the pick to win this week at Doral. That would be somebody who some consider his arch-nemesis.
Round Two in Florida this week for the year's second WGC event at the newly revamped Doral.
Here's a Q&A on this week's event:
What is it?
The Cadillac Championship just outside of Miami. It's the second WGC event in three weeks and the second of four tournaments on the Florida swing.
Where is it?
Trump's precious National Doral which recently got a facelift (the course, I mean). The tournament has been here since 2007.
When is it?
March 6 - March 9
What is the purse?
How can I watch it?

Now that Tiger Woods is officially playing, this will be the best field of 2014. Participants include Tiger, Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, and Henrik Stenson.
Who are the former champions?
2013 -- Tiger Woods
2012 -- Justin Rose
2011 -- Nick Watney
2010 -- Ernie Els
2009 -- Phil Mickelson
Wait, isn't this the tournament where ...
Yep, it's the spot of the famous Steve Stricker-Tiger Woods putting lesson last year.
And Tiger is for sure playing?
Sources close to sources say yes. And by "sources" I mean it looks like Bob Harig of ESPN was texting with Mark Steinberg (Woods' agent). Confirmed.
So who are you picking?
Sergio Garcia (18-1) -- I will likely be making fun of myself for this pick late on Sunday night but I really feel like Garcia is going to have a monster year.
He finished third at this tournament last season and has top 11s in each of his last three stroke-play events on the PGA Tour. When he's in a tree again this year at Doral by all means tweet me to death, but until then, I'll take Garcia.
Lock for top 10
Adam Scott (12-1) -- His last three finishes at Doral: T3, T13, and T6. He was steady last week at the Honda Classic after two months off but I feel a more complete Scott in the field this week. I don't like his odds at 12-1 (same as Tiger?) but he can take over world No. 1 with a win and I think he'll be gunning for it.
Jim Furyk (50-1) -- It's rare to find Jim Furyk this far down the odds list but this is a monster field and he's just one of many stars. He finished third here five years ago though he hasn't done anything spectacular at this course since then (I guess that's why he's 50-1). I'll take a flyer on the 5-Hour Energy man who most recently got to the quarterfinals of the Match Play Championship.
