Photo of the year candidate: Go crazy, Matt Jones, go crazy
Australia has invaded the PGA Tour and Matt Jones is the latest example of that. This photo is phenomenal.
Here at Eye on Golf we like to put forth some of the best golf photos we see every week. Photos that are too good for a tweet. Photos that capture the sport. Here's one of those.
You're allowed to do whatever primal scream you want to do after chipping in from way off the green in the first round of a playoff to secure your first Masters bid.
That's what Matt Jones did on Sunday at the Houston Open in defeating Matt Kuchar on the 73rd hole of the tournament.
Even weirder, Jones becamse the fourth Australian to win a tournament on the PGA Tour this season, none of them being Adam Scott.
Jones joins Jason Day, Steven Bowditch, and John Senden as winners on tour since the beginning of February. That foursome joins a group of 13 Americans who have won tournaments as well.
Four Australians and 13 Americans. Strange stuff, indeed.
