Rory McIlroy did everything right at the 2014 British Open until the very end. Yeah, he screwed up at the very end.

During his acceptance speech for the Claret Jug McIlroy invoked the name of Manchester United which is his favorite soccer team.

The problem? He's in Liverpool, of course. Home of Liverpool FC. United finished seventh and Liverpool second in the most recent English Premier League season.

That didn't keep the Liverpool faithful from booing the crap out of their Champions Golfer of the Year, though.
