Rory McIlroy Inc. How does that sound?
Hopefully it rings true because it's what McIlroy's new homemade mangement company is called. The board is made up of Donal Casey, Barry Funston, and McIlroy's dad, Gerry.
According to the Irish Times, McIlroy released a statement on Friday that included his intentions regarding future business matters.
"Rory McIlroy today confirmed he has terminated his contract with Horizon Sports Management and that the details of the termination are in the hands of a legal team led by A&L Goodbody in Dublin, Ireland."
Horizon Sports, for its part, was none too thrilled.
"Since October 2011, Horizon has achieved exceptional results for Rory in realising his commercial objectives," Horizon said. "Under Horizon’s management, Rory has signed some of the most lucrative endorsements in sports history.
"The current management contract has a number of years to run. Rory’s decision to seek a termination of the management contract with Horizon is now regrettably in the hands of legal advisors."
The move comes on the heels of McIlroy having just switched to Horizon at the end of the 2011 season.
This will be McIlroy's third management company in as many years and, one would think, likely his last.
