Russell Knox fires Web.com Tour's second 59 this month
Russell Knox fired a 12-under 59 Friday in the second round of the Web.com Tour's Albertsons Boise Open.
Just a couple weeks after Will Wilcox shot 59 on the Web.com Tour, Russell Knox matched that number Friday at the Albertsons Boise Open.
It is the fifth 59 in Web.com Tour history.
Knox started on the back nine and birdied the 10th hole, his first. He followed that up with four consecutive pars before a birdie-eagle-birdie-par stretch for a 30 at the turn. Knox parred his 10th hole, then got hot. An eagle on 11 followed by five straight birdies brought his number to 12-under, and he parred out for a 59.
The 28-year-old from Scotland is no slouch, as he's made seven cuts this year on the PGA Tour, most recently finishing tied for 17th at last week's Sanderson Farms Championship.
