Steve Spurrier says he's never lost a game of golf to a player
Of course he hasn't.
College coaches notoriously love playing golf but nobody loves playing golf the same way Steve Spurrier loves playing golf.
That's why it's not really that surprising he says he's never lost a round to a former football player he coached.
"In more than 30 years of coaching, Steve Spurrier has never lost a round of golf to one of his players. New challengers are apt to dismiss the claim, but Spurrier is happy to provide witness accounts of each of his triumphs. It's a record he takes seriously."
Sounds about right for the ol' ball coach.
He also said nobody gets a second chance.
"All of them say, 'Coach, when are we going to play again?' and I say, 'No, no, you had your chance,' " Spurrier said.
Again, sounds about right.
