Tiger Woods got after his own course record at Sherwood Country Club on Friday afternoon in the Northwestern Mutual Challenge and eventually tied it with a 10-under 62 to take the lead.
Woods didn't make a bogey all day and narrowly missed a birdie putt on No. 18 that would have set the new course record.
Here's a look at his scorecard which included a 31 on both sides:
Tiger surged to the top of a leaderboard loaded with big names (granted, there are only 18 golfers in the tournament and they're all big names). Here's a look (these were scores at the time Woods finished):
Tiger Woods: 11 under
Zach Johnson: 8 under
Matt Kuchar: 8 under
Graeme McDowell: 5 under
Bubba Watson: 4 under
Woods was absolutely locked in in every phase after an opening-round 71 that left him four back of Johnson.
This shot that led to birdie was pretty indicative of how his day went.
Woods was pleased but terse after his round. When asked which shots he was disappointed with he responded appropriately for a man who just dropped a 62 on the best golfers in the world.
