VIDEO: A clean-cut Jason Dufner previews the 2014 US Open
Jason Dufner has finished in the top five in each of the last two US Opens.
Let's talk about Jason Dufner at the US Open for a minute.
Actually, wait, let's talk about Jason Dufner's haircut for a minute. The clean sides are a far cry from that mop top he's usually sporting. Somehow it's not as Duf-like as it was before.
But back to the important stuff. Can you tell me the only golfer to finish in the top five in each of the past two US Opens?
Yep, it's War Dufner.
In fact, only Dufner and Jason Day have finished in the top five in two of the past three US Opens dating back to 2011.
Dufner played Pinehurst No. 2 recently and said it wasn't as penalizing as he thought it might be.
"It's not quite as bad as I anticipated it being," Dufner said. "The sand base is a little bit firmer than I thought so the ball kind of gets scootin' but there's going to be times when you have really bad lies and try to wedge out."
He also said that while the Donald Ross greens are brutal, the tournament is going to very strategy-oriented.
"Very challenging greens," said Dufner. "I think they've given us a good bit of room off the tee, and given some options to play off the tee. It's a good mix of golf."
