Video: Jonas Blixt secures his first PGA Tour win with this up and down on Sunday
Jonas Blixt won the Frys.com with this incredible up-and-down on the 17th hole.
In golf, nothing is harder than getting over the hump. Guys trying to get through Q-School or win their first pro tournament or even their first major championship face an obstacle that a lot of people can't get past, and when you do, the doors open wide.
On Sunday at the Frys.com Open, Jonas Blixt was looking to finally get in that rare air of "PGA Tour champion" and after a hot start, the bogeys came and things weren't as smooth as they had been for three days.
No worries, because the 28-year-old Swede hit one of the most clutch chips of the year on the short par-4 17th. Going with driver, Blixt smoked it over the green, and facing a tricky shot that resembled the one Tiger Woods had earlier this year the Memorial, Blixt went soft-handed and nearly holed the pitch for eagle.
He would roll in the putt for birdie, and that was good enough for a one shot victory over Tim Petrovic and Jason Kokrak (Kokrak made eagle on the same hole to get to to 15-under).
Blixt's reaction said it all when the putt dropped, and that invitation to the 2013 Masters couldn't come soon enough.
