Video: Justin Rose makes incredible birdie putt on the 17th hole Sunday at the Ryder Cup
Justin Rose's comeback gave the Europeans life, and this putt on the 17th hole was downright batty.
Phil Mickelson looked like he was about to wrap up his Sunday singles match against Justin Rose. He knocked in a clutch birdie putt on the 16th hole that would have put Mickelson 2-up with two holes to play, but Rose rolled his own birdie in to give himself a chance at that full point.
And then came the 17th hole. On the tough par-3 with a tucked pin, Rose hit a smart shot in the middle of the green, and after Mickelson's chip shot stopped just on the lip, it was Rose's turn to win the hole.
He hit the above putt perfectly, and after it went dead center, things were all square, and Rose went on to make a birdie on the last hole to win his match against Mickelson and give the Europeans a much-needed full point.
