Video: Steve Stricker makes hole-in-one during second round of BMW Championship
Steve Stricker took just one shot on the par-3 6th hole on Friday at the BMW Championship.
Earlier this week, Steve Stricker was one of four American PGA Tour members named to the upcoming Ryder Cup team. That was a pretty sweet honor for Stricker. How did he follow it up? By posting an opening-round 68 Thursday at the BMW Championship, then making the highlights Friday with this tee shot on the par-3 6th.
Stricker hit a 6-iron from 198 yards, recording the third ace in his PGA Tour career.
Stricker's hole-in-one was the first of the week, and while he didn't win a car at the BMW Championship, he did win something much better. BMW had promised to donate a four-year Evans Scholarship to a caddie if a pro made an ace this week, so some lucky looper is going to college on BMW's dime thanks to Stricker's shot.
The only negative? Stricker followed up his hole-in-one with a double-bogey on the par-4 7th. See what happens when you start buying drinks mid-round!
